Protect Your Skin, Then Enjoy The Sun
After the long, cold months of winter the sunny days of spring are a welcome change! Finally, it seems, the sun is out and things are coming alive again! But before you bask in the sunlight remember to protect your skin! The sun is our best source for Vitamin D, so as you get your daily dosage protect yourself so you may enjoy the sun all summer long.
- Wear sunscreen anytime you will be outside for an extended period of time. A sunscreen of at least SPF 15 is your safest bet.
- Remember that clouds do not block UV rays. So protect your skin even on those overcast days.
- Sun rays are at their strongest between the hours of 10am and 4pm
- Wear a hat! Create some shade for your eyes and skin and wear a hat, especially if you’ll be outside for awhile.
- Cover Up! When exercising or lounging by the pool, have something to cover your arms and legs to protect from the sun.
- Take a Break! Allow your body to recover between periods of sun exposure. Use this time to replenish skin with a natural moisturizer or Aloe Vera gel.
There is nothing worse than being stuck inside because of badly burnt skin. Taking precautions and protecting your skin before you go outside will keep you from severely burning or damaging your skin and will allow you to enjoy the sun all summer long!
