Gluten Free Foods!

Now don’t panic. Eliminating gluten from your diet DOES NOT mean eliminating taste. It may seem like you can’t eat anything anymore, but rest assure you can. Here is a list of foods that are Gluten Free!

  • Almonds (whole nut and flour)
  • Rice (unless seasoned)
  • Rice Flours
  • Amaranth
  • buckwheat
  • Corn
  • Beans
  • Kasha
  • Millet
  • Quinoa
  • Potato (Potato Flour)
  • Risotto
  • Sesame
  • Soy (soybean)
  • Sunflower Seeds
  • Sweet Potato
  • Teff

Now this is not an exclusive list, but a place to start. If you are searching for gluten free products or trying to cook gluten free foods, the above are some key ingredients for the gluten free diet.

Note that I did not list all fruits, vegetables or nuts but they are all naturally gluten free. They can contain gluten if cooked/processed with a product containing gluten. Cooking for yourself eliminates contamination as you are in control in your kitchen, but when dining out be very careful and ask questions.
