Kombucha and Your Gut
There’s no doubt that Kombucha is one of the hottest trends in healthy drinks. Kombucha is claimed to be a health tonic by traditional cultures. Some of these claims state that it can aid in detoxification, sleep, digestion, increased energy, candida reduction, and many more. Kombucha is also a rich source of probiotics. This “health elixer” is made by adding a symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast (a SCOBY, or “mother” because of its ability to reproduce) to sweetened black or green tea. Kombucha has a very unique flavor. With a tart and earthy taste, and a slightly vinegar-like smell, it can be difficult for some to enjoy. To make Kombucha more palatable, fruit juice is added.
Here at Seven Grains, we offer a great variety of Kombucha brands. Like with any raw or fermented product, those with any health condition or who are pregnant or nursing should check with a doctor before consuming.
